Thunderstorms are forecast across parts of the western and central Mediterranean Sea

SYNOPSIS

Monday at 06 UTC... the high-over-low block still persists. While the for low-pressure centre over Iberia fills, a new centre of low surface pressure develops over the Algerian coastal waters. Slight rising motions and northward moisture advection from the Libian coastal areas will likely create enough destabilisation for the scattered development of a few storms nearby Sicily and Sardinia and perhaps a little further westward. Some thunder is likely with some of the storms.
